About EAAD

Depression is one of the most prevalent disorders in the world. Yet it’s also one of the most misunderstood.

Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) is a membership organisation with more than 30 members in Europe, Canada, Chile, Australia, and Africa and further project partners.

EAAD was founded in 2008 by experts in the field of mental health. We now run or contribute to several research projects in Europe around depressive disorders and suicide prevention.

Optimal care and treatment for depression and suicide prevention are our main missions.

Our projects involve health care organisations, policy makers and private individuals. Engaging in community-based programmes, we aim to change the perception around mental disorders and ensure help is provided to everyone requiring it.
